Boris Belashev, Lyubov Bakunovich, Nikolai Sharov and Mikhail Nilov «Seismic Density Model of the White Sea’s Crust” 10.3390/geosciences10120492
We are usually reminded of merciless gravity only when dropping our favorite cup of coffee to the floor. Meanwhile, variations in the spatial distribution of the universal gravitation field, although intangible to humans, contain important information about the depth-seated structure of the Earth’s crust. The authors of the article report the results of a comprehensive interpretation of the regional gravity field of the White Sea and adjacent areas based on the reflecting boundaries identified by deep seismic sounding. Using the Russian-designed GIS software complex Integro, the authors produced a 3D model of the layered deep structure of the White Sea region.
